Math, Science, Technology Magnet

The STEM magnet program infuses science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into student learning. Students access an academically enriched, rigorous, standards-based curriculum with an emphasis on high achievement, multiculturalism, and leadership. Students develop the critical thinking skills for success in the 21st century. Our goal is to foster student passions and enhance knowledge in STEM-related fields.

The STEM Magnet challenges students with a strong academic program that encourages students to solve problems using new perspectives. Instruction is delivered at, or above, grade level with honors classes offered in grades 6, 7, and 8 for gifted and/or high-achieving students. The STEM theme is infused into our academic program by way of interdisciplinary connections among  core classes. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics themes are cultivated in science, math, English, history, and elective classes. The program fosters and expects high standards in academics, study habits, behavior, respect, citizenship, homework, and dress code.

Performing and Visual Arts Magnet

PAVA magnet will meet the needs of students, providing them a vehicle for new ways of learning through the lens of the arts. Students create original authentic performances and pieces for their peers, families and community, connecting their passion for the arts to the human experience. This process will be developed through a rich and rigorous academic program with a differentiated approach to encourage diverse school experiences focused on adolescent needs, interests and learning styles to prepare our students to be college and career ready. This process prepares students to develop intellectually, creatively, as well as holistically, in order to establish the relevancy and resiliency needed for the next level of their learning. Patrick Henry Performing and Visual Arts Magnet embraces the diversity of all of its students by recognizing that all students deserve a safe, inviting, supportive and nurturing environment where they will feel respected, valued and challenged.
